Job opening: Advanced Training in CL: Oncology & Palliative Care

St Vincent’s Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and committed psychiatric registrar wishing to undertake education and training in providing psychosocial care in oncology and palliative care settings. [Click post heading for details]

Our team includes psychiatrists, psychologists and creative therapists (music and art), and we have a strong tradition of psychotherapy as part of our everyday work.

This position involves working closely with patients, their families and the treating teams throughout all phases of illness and occurs within a true Consultation Liaison setting. The position is well supported with consultant supervision, and there is the capacity for a small, clinically relevant research project. The appointee will be part of a team which provides clinical service delivery, education and training, staff support, quality monitoring and improvement and research in this important area. The position is accredited by the VPTC for advanced training in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and the consultants are all practising psychotherapists.
