VAPT Trainee Guide to Service 2016

The Victorian Association of Psychiatric Trainees (VAPT) are proud to present the first ever edition of  “VAPT Trainee Guide to Services”  as trainees consider their psychiatry job applications for 2017. It aims to help inform trainees of current service experiences from current trainees eg on-call rotas and workload, protected teaching time and education programs, elective rotations. It is not meant to replace service specific recruitment websites where specific details on positions and applications are available.

The recent RANZCP Accreditation Report of the Victorian Northern Region Training Program highlighted Trainee concerns at the College’s response in early 2016 to trainee deaths in Victoria. In consultation with VAPT – Victorian Association of Psychiatric Trainees the VPTC wishes to meet with Trainees to discuss this further.

We are pleased to welcome the new 2016-7 VAPT Committee with plans to continue to support the second largest psychiatric training state in Australia and New Zealand by continuing to represent our 301 Victorian trainees with ongoing advocacy, education and social events in order to continue to promote our mission statement “together in training”.
